I was writing down the instructions for a class I taught and had written down - cut all the same size squares... a light bulb went off in my head and said why not try it with odd size squares... and it worked.
Homework this week for the Art Nouveau class I'm taking with Violet Smythe.
size: 9"w x 8"h
On Strathmore black Artagain wrote our the 3 Art Nouveau lettering styles we learnt on April 11th as out homework for next week.
I used a white Gelly Roll 08 pen. Colored the counter and or inner spaces with Black Addition colored pencils.
The top one I kept plain, the next with an olivey/apple green. The third one is my take on Chase Zen Paris Font and colored with a different color in each bulbous area. The last one which is the actual look of the Chase font with only white.
I came across this booklet structure on Instagram: the_gifty_shop (Mar 11/24 post)
Instructions can be found on my website HERE
On Canson Pro Layout Marker paper using a Zig Writer and a Mattehop pen and coloring with Koi Calligraphy pens.
words: with malice towards none and charity to all
size: 8.5"w x 9.5"h x 1"thk
Raided my cardstock stash and assembled 14 different colors plus the white covers. Added a strip of 1"w yellow cardstock on both sides of each piece of cardstock to reinforce the binding edge. Punched 3 holes approx 1/2" away from my edge.
Bound it a little differently than usual. I started the binding from the back edge but stopped at the halfway point. Then started from the front page working towards the center of my pages. Attached both sections by tying a double knot bow.
I like this way a lot better because I think it's a lot neater...
Then added the different colored strips of cardstock and the title.
You do have to pay attention to the orientation of your pages, otherwise they may end up upside down... ROFL
Size: 3.5"w x 5.5"h
I finished this several days ago but finally scanned it... It's just one of those abstract linear/circular design doodles and then colored with Mattehop pens and doodled with Juice Up pen and then decided to add the alphabet letters in the open spaces...
the 3rd image is one I created from a class I'm taking.
Since I had no direction again while playing with the gals, I just started doodling...
Juice Up pen, Posca colored pencils, graphite, on Canson Pro Layout Marker paper.
I thought I'd do an "e" and when I was playing with it... there was the "a" as well. ROFL
On Canson Pro Layout marker paper using Posca colored pencils (red, green & brown) in Art Nouveau pressure release lettering.

Lace Design 3"sq
On Canson Mi-Tientes paper using Juice Up pens and Gelly Roll pen along with colored pencils.
I love the results of the lace done with the white Juice Up pen and then dotted with the white Gelly Roll pen and lightly shaded with a white pencil.
size: 4.75"w x 6"h
On Canson Mixed Media paper very lightly penciled in my ovals. Painted with Derwent regular w/c pencils and a wet paintbrush. When dry wrote in the various quotes using Juice Up pen.
Words: Don't walk in front of me I may not follow. Don't walk behind I may not lead. Walk beside me and by my friend. Albert Camus
A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you. Elbert Hubbard
Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience, this is the ideal life. Mark Twain
There is nothing better than a friend unless it's one with chocolate. Linda Grayson
I would rather walk with a friend in the dark than alone in the light. Helen Keller
Something similar came on my Pinterest feed and I was in a doodling mood... I put more circles, added text and eliminated some elements.
I had fun doing the "S" key frame which have since words added... you can see HERE or HERE for the basic frame with details
size:7.5"h x 6"w
On Canson Mixed Media paper drew out the key design. See below for the steps I took. Since it's basically all straight lines I drew a funky "S" shape. Then put a border around the shape. Transferred the idea to graph paper... although that didn't really help so I just winged it... then cut it out of cardstock and used it as my guide.
I then inked it with a ZIG Writer, added the inner border with a Juice Up pen and water colored my "S" shapes using (WN Cad Yel, Winsor Blue Red and Holbien Opera) blending the paints with water to merge them. Then inked the black areas with a Pentel Brush Pen.
As written testing my glass pen using Sumi ink and then using gouache. Since I'm notorious for spell or leaving letters out... this was no different. Forgot the "u" in gouache so added it under the handle of the "a" and repeated with the "h" to make it like it all belonged...
Then was doodling the bottom area and testing another nib and then felt like writing the word "Happiness"
Black ZIG calligraphy 3.0 pen
Then I was playing with gouache trying to get the effect that Loredana Zega does - nope didn't work but still had paint on my brush so created the linear design. Then wrote the funky alphabet and the text below... and of course another mistake... yourself should be one word but put the "e" after the "r" instead of the "s"... so created a little doodle... Ha Ha
Env: Misc unknown heavy weight paper. I was in the mood for something a little abstract with flowers... and the fuchsias evolved. Name done in Blue Ridge Typeface using a combo of Zig Writer and Juice up pen and Prisma colored pencils.
Card: was a fun play with a tangle I saw and some geli print background.
I liked the top one so played with it - see below for details.
